Varvax-III Vaccine

Chickenpox is a contagious disease that causes an itchy blister like rash, fever and tiredness. The rash typically appears on the stomach, back and face first and spreads to the rest of the body.

Chickenpox is caused by the varicella-zoster virus (VZV) and can be serious especially for babies, people with compromised immune systems, and adults. People who have been infected by VZV can get a painful rash called Shingles later in life.

The Varvax-III vaccine can prevent chickenpox. The vaccine is given in two doses. After the second dose the vaccine is 98.3% effective in preventing chickenpox infection.
